Well, 3 phases really.
1st major boo boo
Outside Adventures
and Maple Syrup
Saturday morning Greyson got his first major boo boo. I heard the scream and just knew it wasn’t good. He was following Daddy out into the garage, something he does on a daily basis to get the doggy food and somehow managed to fall. Well, face met concrete and face ended up with concrete burn! He took it much better than mommy did, and after a quick kiss, a little Neosporin and a cookie he didn’t think about it again. I on the other hand feel nothing but pains of guilt as I look at his little scrapped up face and think what if??
Outside Adventures…. This weekend was full of them! The cool Florida winter days bring that sunny 60 degrees, where being outside in jeans and a sweatshirt feels great. The cold air is brisk on your face and makes hiking a pure joy. We let Greyson tromp about in the woods near our house and boy did he have fun! He found extreme delight in pine cones, sticks, and stones of every shape and size. He giggled at squirrels, squealed and pointed up at airplanes, and mastered the art of wiping his hands together to remove sand and dirt. We stayed out until our legs were tired, our cheeks were red from the wind and cool air and our bellies were hungry. It was….. well, perfect.
Sunday morning we found ourselves at one of our favorite breakfast spots, Bob Evans. Greyson had maple syrup on his pancakes for the first time and let’s just say he loved it! I think he would have drunk the syrup straight if I would have let him. When we got home, it was well past nap time and we came straight in and to the rocking chair. As he snuggled up on my shoulder all I could smell was maple syrup. Until that moment I couldn’t say it was I smell I really enjoyed, but while rocking him today there is no other smell in the world I would have enjoyed more.
My baby boy is most definitely a toddler. Big scrapes, dirty hands and smells of maple syrup……

What cool pictures of Greg and Greyson. Your outdoor adventure sounds like a wondreful family memory. Greg looks like a giant beside Greyson, I really love the contrast. Greg looks as big as the trees. I bet little Greyson feel very safe and secure with Daddy around. Tell Greyson that Grandma likes Bob Evans too and I remember the smell of syrup on you kids!! Thank for the memory. Its fun listening to your stories and then having something return to my memory about you and Ryan that I had forgotten!! I love you all very much and miss you tons!! Love, Mom and Grandma
