Yesterday we pulled up to a truck load of teenage girls, 4 crammed in the front seat, 2 in the back bed of the truck, all bikini clad and sun baked from a fun day at the beach, I’m sure. As we pulled along side them Greyson hollered from the back seat “Hiya Girls!” and waved through the window with wild abandon. “Girls, mommy, Girls!” he jabbered, smiles stretching his cheeks to their fullest. When the light turned green the truck sped away as only teenage drivers do, as they distanced themselves from us Greyson screamed from his Britax seat behind me, “Faster Mommy, Faster – the girls!”
The funniest part is that for a fleeting second I almost sped up, before my mommy judgment snapped into gear and I realized that chasing down a truck load of teenage girls for my 2 year old was probably not the most ‘proper’ thing to do.
Mommy-hood Lesson # 4,578 – Chasing down a truck load of teenage girls, is never appropriate for your 2 year old son, or 12,17, 22, 34, 48, 56 or 62 year old son either.
(Pointing out the boats - much much better!) (I love the way he is standing in this one!)
Dear Greyson,
ReplyDeleteYou can love all these girls: Mommy, Grandmas, Aunts and girl cousins and a sister if you have one some day BUT; all the rest of girls you have to be very very carful of until you reach the age of oh at least 24. Advice for Mommy and Daddy: Never and I mean Never let Greyson go out of state to a wedding if you would like him to at least live in the same state as you do!!!! What an adoriable story and I couldn't help but laugh at Mommys reaction to try and catch up with the truck of girls!!! You stay with Mommy and Daddy for a long time honey because it is a very hard thing to let go of your precious child!!
P.S. I love the pictures!! You really took some great portraits of Greyson last week. You should really get into it professionally!!
ReplyDeleteLove U, Mom
