Yesterday we had your follow up appointment with the pediatrician. Your lungs still don’t sound or look great but they are improving. Keep doing what you’re doing, let him rest, etc… I knew we were out of the scary part of the forest; your eyes are starting to shine once again, faint smiles are popping up and you’re sleeping less, wanting to get up more. All good signs! You still are napping and living on the couch and watching non-stop shows, but the fact that they are holding your interest is a great sign. You’ve even played a few hands of Uno! Your appetite came back with a vengeance and Mommy is cooking and baking and willing to feed you anything your heart desires! Turns out you not eating for a few days freaks mommy out, way to play off my worry and request Chicken Cordon Blue and doughnuts for breakfast!! You ate every last crumb though! :)

Mommy is so so so happy that you are feeling better. Keep resting my love, we’re going to get those little lungs of yours back to 100%!! Love you more.

P.S. While at the Doctor yesterday, Dr. Q had just left the room to write us your new prescription and as I looked up from my chair, there you sat, on the examining table and in that moment you looked so very grown up. From the way you were sitting to the long dangly legs. It was a moment that stole mommy’s breath for a bit, a moment of such pride in the boy you’ve become and yet such sadness in the loss of time, where did it go? It seems as if just yesterday you were so tiny, so little that mommy would always stand by the table side with a hand on you for your safety. Yesterday you climbed up on your own and sat and waited and took deep breaths and said “ahhhh” and everything that one must and you’re just so big. I love you, and I’m so proud of you.
