I hold your hand as we walk to the field, your friends all saying hello as we go. I let go and tell you to go check in with your coach, I'm headed to the stands... off you run, with your hat and your glove... You look so small, but yet you tower over the other kids on your team.
Your coach spots you walking up, and greets you with "How's my big hitter tonight?!" and I see you grin, you can't wait to hit the ball, it's definitely your favorite part... you step up to the plate, taking your time to get your weight balanced, you test your distance and then you swing!! Your determination to get to first base is great and you run with all your might as the crowd all cheers!! I watch you then as you take your running of the bases quite serious, and as soon as the ball is hit you run to the next until your heading home! You quite possibly are the cutest T-ball player on the planet :)
This year you've taken to playing in the field a little more, still not potty breaks from boredom this year!! Your coach commends you after every game, for staying in your spot, for staying present in the game and for getting the ball only when it comes in your area, and not being part of the pile-ups that tend to happen. He commends you on listening, and that my son makes me more proud of you than any big hit, or fast out at first... Even though, I must admit, your out at first was pretty awesome!!
I'm looking forward to watching you grow the rest of this season... You are and will always be Mommy's M.V.P. I love you buddy!
