Zoo-tastic!!

We went to the Zoo today and it was a BLAST! Greyson just loved all the animals, with the exception of the Howler Monkey’s, they completely freaked him out with their loud howls!! He spent the day pointing at each and every animal and switching between his bear sound and his doggie sound. He also flirted and waved at each adorable little girl we passed, it was quite hilarious. We saw elephants, leopards, alligators, crocodiles, all kinds of birds, bugs & snakes, kangaroo’s, goats, tortoises (one was huge!), lama’s, and many other wonderful animals. We rode a very rickety and fast Merry-Go-Round for about 27 seconds, before I begged the lady to turn it off as my child was hysterical, he does NOT like Merry-Go-Rounds. He did however love the Little Champ train ride. All in all it was a great day, a bit chilly (okay, it was 70, but we were in sweatshirts, the wind was cool) but the sun was out and we had a perfect family day, it was Zoo-tastic!!

Enjoy the photos!

We're still here!!!

Ah! It’s been FOREVER since, I’ve updated this blog…. Where does the time go? Things are wonderfully busy around the house. Greyson continues to get busier and busier with each passing day. He is still using the potty daily, not every time but quite a few times a day. He’s cutting his “eye” teeth right now and is back to nursing a lot!!! I don’t know if I’ll ever get this child weaned……

We recently found a new park in town that we love! Greyson is a major champ at the slide, he just loves it. You can see a video at www.dropshots.com/ghpeugh . Other than that, not too much new to report.
Here is a family photo!! No I'm not pregnant, it's a flowy shirt!!

More Photoshop Fun!!

Greyson the surfer Dude! Don't you just LOVE the wet suit??

Greyson slam dunks!! Yeah, yeah, his shorts are a little long.....

Leggo’ my Leggo!!

Greyson’s new obsession is leggos. There are days when I think we could get rid of all of his other toy’s and just have Leggos.

Enjoy the snap shots of Greyson and daddy building many a masterpiece!

What a big boy!

We’re talking MAJOR big boy stuff…..

Greyson Lee peed in the potty!!! WOO HOO!!

Now don’t worry, I am in no way shape or form even attempting to potty train him. However, the little “squirt” pees every night as soon as he steps foot in the tub, so today in an effort to save myself the hassle of draining/cleaning/re-filling the tub, I bought him a potty seat and a stool, they are a super cute matching sesame street set. I figured it would be a good time to get him used to seeing these things in the bathroom, and he is always showing interest in the potty so why not let him play around with the new potty seat (it’s one of those rings that just sits on the regular seat) and his new stool.

We stripped him down and his naked little buns scooted into the bathroom awaiting his lift into the tub, but instead mommy stepped him up on to his stool, lifted the lid (no peeing on the seat!) and said, “Can you go pee pee in the big potty?” and low and behold he did it!!! I was shocked! He was pleased as punch and strained to get ever last drop out, straining so hard he let the loudest “toot” you’ve ever heard and I thought for a second I was going to have a bigger mess than just pee in the tub, if you know what I mean…. but alas, it was just pee pee’s in the potty and a baby boy and mommy with grins from ear to ear for the huge accomplishment.

Who would’ve ever thought this moment would be one of my proudest????

Warning!!! Mommy Brag!

I can remember when friends had their baby’s years ago, they would brag and go on for hours about the silliest things their babies were currently doing. I would do the obligatory head nod, and the obligatory “oh, how cute/sweet/adorable”. I can distinctly remember thinking that if I had to listen to one more milestone moment I might throw my hands over my ears and show this person what the terrible two’s really look like!

If you recently have found yourself feeling as I once did, you may want to stop reading now. I swore I’d never be one of “those” moms, but I also swore I would never be obsessed with baby poo… so… in the life of mommy-hood all the things you swore you wouldn’t do, you do – and proudly!

Greyson is a genius! I’m not saying this just because I’m his mother either, he truly is a genius! We have a book called baby’s 1st 100 words. Each page has pictures of items, in rows and colorful boxes with the name of the item written below. Greyson loves this book and we have “read” it countless times. Now for the genius part….. when asked, Greyson can point to the correct object on most every page!! He also will turn the pages to find the object you are asking him about. He’s so smart and loves this little game so much. Sometimes I’m completely awed that this little child, we brought home all floppy headed and sleepy, can now do such marvelous things. In 17 (gulp, yes 17 as of tomorrow) months he can now run, jump (almost), feed himself with utensils fairly neatly, find objects in a book as well as in real life (i.e. bring mommy the phone, remote, hairbrush, etc…), he sings, he dances, he scribbles and colors, he builds towers, he throws, he catches!!, he says words, he does signs, he gives the best bear hugs in all the world and passes out kisses left and right, he, well….. he’s just simply amazing.
