What a wash...

Well we "had" big plans for the weekend, but then tropical storm Beryl had to go change them!! Saturday was nice and you were feeling better so we did manage to get to the water park and soak up some sun then... 

Sunday was supposed to be a beach day, but it was so windy and cloudy and and rainy and yuck...

Today was more of the same only more rain and more yuck...

We did get lots of naps and quiet snuggle time at home though... so that's not all bad. 

4 more days of school!!  Yay!!

Only 4 days left...

So close little man... so close!!

You stayed home today, with a sore throat and runny nose and just a general, blah... Daddy had been out of town some this week and was more than happy to stay home with you, so he did, and you did and by noon, your throat was better but your nose was still runny...

Hopefully the rest did you good.  A nice long weekend, filled with ocean air and then 4 days of Kindergarten... You are almost 1st grade bound my love!!  CA-RAZY!!

I'm so ready for summer dude.  So ready.

The first week we shall bake in the sun, the second week we are Disney bound... So far it sounds just about right...

I had such a great day...

Those were the words you said to me tonight as we snuggled in bed... You read me two stories and then sang me songs, as I nuzzled my nose as deep as possible into the side of your neck... You still smelled of suntan lotion and sun kissed skin...

"I did too..."

Everyday with you is a great day... the best day ever.

Today we went to the water park (your 'right now' favorite) you rode all the big slides, even the tunnels, you squealed and laughed, we had splash wars and we snuggled under towels in beach chairs to get warmed by the sun... We floated in the lazy river, just one more lap... We rocked the waves in the wave pool and tipped ourselves over a time or two... You still always hold my hand, and take stairs slow, I let you play in the kid splash zone by yourself while I sit in the chairs to get some sun (because I can see you the entire time) after every slide you make sure to lock eyes with me and smile... When it's almost time to go you ask for 6 more slides, 2 of each... and I say yes.  You slide exactly 6 times, not a single time more and come out of the water ready to go.  No asking for more or begging to stay, not a peep... you crawl up on my chair and I wrap you in a towel and we 'sun dry' for a bit and then hand and hand we're ready to go...

I am so proud of you.  You truly are the best... I love you sweet boy...

and I had such a great day!!

Dear Greyson...

Hey Buddy...

I said to you tonight, "Tell me a story." as we rocked before bed time.  "A real one or a make believe one?" you asked...

"You decide."

You went on to tell the tale of your first day of Kindergarten, how you were nervous, because you didn't know what to do, but you had fun.  How you forgot your friends names and got scared, but then remembered them, "and then you came and picked me up" you said, "and I knew everything was going to be great!"

and I knew exactly what you meant.  There was a time when I was nervous, I didn't know how to be a mom or what to do, worried that I would forget to do the things you needed, and scared I would do them wrong.  But then, they put you in my arms and in that very moment I knew everything was going to be great!

You were only 2 days old in this picture... The first time I laid you in your crib.  With all that hair (and chub - not shown) you looked like a 2 month old.  In fact when we left the hospital the nurses all said that you only looked like a newborn for a few hours... and they were right!!

By the way - your daddy - he's pretty much the greatest thing ever.  Not only does he love the both of us more than anything in the world - he's the one that makes sure that we get to have EPIC summer fun, and for that there are no words.  He gives us a pretty awesome life!!  We love him lots and lots and lots!!  xoxox

She did and some thank you's!!

This weekend I stood by one of my very best friends as she said "I do".  It was probably one of the most unique and most beautiful weddings I've ever attended!! 

The last few months have been full of planning, not only the wedding but her showers and bachelorette party as well.  To say that it has occupied my time and attention is an understatement for sure.  I'm so lucky to have such great boys at home, who even though they missed me, and even though I've slacked in the Mommy/Wife department and even though I've been way less present than any of us are used to, they have supported me and picked up the slack and we made it work!!  Greg, I love you.  Thank you for helping with this, and holding back when I was annoying and spending way too much money!! Greyson, I love you!!  Thank you for understanding that mommy loves her friends and needed to be there for Auntie CB, even though it broke my heart to take time away from you.  I'm so lucky to have the best hubby and little man in the world.  I promise things will get back to normal now!! (or as soon as I'm done oooohing and ahhhhhing over the video's and pictures...)



Because seriously?? How can you not Oooooh and Ahhhh?!?

She truly was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen.  Who was married on a floating dock in the middle of the most beautiful spring I've ever seen, who had a reception under the most beautiful moon I've ever seen...

It was pure "country" fairytale bliss... just like her!!
