What did I do?!?!

Tender...

I read Greyson "The Giving Tree" for the first time ever tonight.

He handled the boy taking the apples with no shock or concern...

He whispered "This makes me sad" when the boy took the branches...

The tears started when the boy cut down the tree's trunk...

"Do you want me to stop the story baby?" I asked.

"No momma, keep reading."

and by the end, when all that was left was the stump, and even though the stump was happy, my dear sweet Greyson was not. The tears ran down his cheeks, and he wailed, "How could that boy be so selfish?!?"

I've often used the words "tender hearted" to describe him...

Indeed.

I love you, my tender hearted boy. You are simply the most amazing thing ever.

and it's over...

We spent time as a family, we spent time with friends, you played golf with your daddy... Mommy forgot that all the stores would be closed and tomorrow your super lame lunch will be proof of that!! PB&J, apple slices, a little salad, crackers, cookies... You'll survive for sure, but not the healthiest of lunches you've had!! Oh well... Tomorrow is Monday, the stores will be open, and veggie and fruit shopping I will do!! :)

Oh sweet boy of mine, I have so loved these last 10 days. Mommy feels refreshed... I'm ready to get back into the routine, boy does my diet and workout schedule need our routine back, but I'll go back with a better attitude, and more appreciation for the time that we do have, I need to make better use of the time we get each day, enjoy it more, make it count more.

I love you with every ounce of me, I've loved our break and I can't wait for summer!!! Sleep well tonight my love, for tomorrow it's back at it!!

well....

We lost our momentum buddy boy... The both of us!!

Today, well we had big plans. The rummage sale at school that I had said I'd help out at (and turns out Momma is a big loser and we didn't make it!) the beach, the park, the anything outside - yeah, didn't make those either. The world and our tired achy bodies were working against us today...

You spent most of the day playing on your Wii, the computer or watching toons. I'm not proud to admit it, but it's true. Your screen time was off the charts today! Yikes.

Momma did get caught up on Laundry, your closet cleaned out, and the house clean (because we've been having too much fun and boy oh boy did this house show it!! whoa!). No sunshine today though, and I think we both felt it. It's going to be hard to get back into the swing of our normal school schedule, hard, but good too - this party madness has to stop!! :)

Tomorrow is our last day, our last day of spring break. I'm thinking an afternoon in the sun...

With only 3 days left of spring break...

Earlier today we went back to the water park. You my little man are such a Rock Star!! Today you tackled the BIG slides and you loved them!! Momma got quite the stair workout in today!! You were super scared, and almost backed out at the beginning, but we were able to go together in a double tube and I promised to "hold your belly" so down we went and you were hooked!! So so so so proud of you!!

Then we did a little shopping and now we are home, resting, playing wii and feeling the sun baked heat escape our bodies...

The last week of spring break has been one of the best weeks ever little man. I have absolutely relished in each and every moment spent with you! My house is a mess, there is laundry to do, and boy oh boy do we need to get to the grocery store, but my love, I'm glad to let it all sit to just soak you in. I love you with all my heart!!

2 more days of fun, well more like one and a half, because come Sunday afternoon, momma is going to have to get her stuff together!! Eeek!!

errrr... change of plans!!

So instead of the water park, yet again today... We ended up getting together with an old friend of Mommy's who is in town from Atlanta!! Karen had just had her little boy, Musa, when mommy and daddy left Atlanta and moved here, and mommy and her have kept in contact. She has family that lives here in Flagler Beach and every time they are in town, we have been out. So finally today, after 7 years of trying to get together, we made it happen!!

We went to lunch, and then over to the Art an Soul studio, where you painted pottery for the first time ever, and had and absolute BLAST!!! You chose a dinosaur and I can't wait to see how cute he looks when we get him from the kiln in about a week!!

So even though we were out of the sun, we still had a blast!! Sun tomorrow for sure though!! :)

yesterday on spring break - and Today!!

Yesterday was our day apart and oh how I missed you!! Mommy had a TON of stuff to get done, including an open water swim (it's TRI season!!) so you went to spend the afternoon with the Grandparents. You had fun and when I picked you up around 3:30, you were super excited to be back with mom! Then last night you mostly hung with Daddy as mommy went out with some girl friends to the movies!! You were asleep by the time I got home and you're still sleeping this morning, so it's safe to say that you are a bit tuckered out!! Today though is another big fun day as we're headed back to Daytona Lagoon!! I know you love love love it there and so I figure, why not?

I can't believe it's already Thursday... our week has flown by so quick. Tomorrow daddy will stay home with us and we're not sure yet what we'll be doing, then is Saturday, Sunday and BOOM! right back to school and our regular schedule... But only for about 8 weeks my love, then it's summer break!! Yay!! Momma can't wait, it's safe to say, I've missed my Weeble time, I miss you so much!! This spring break has been so good for momma, and for you also, I do believe...

Today on spring break... :)

Oh how much fun we are having my little love bug!! Today we started the day with a bike ride on one of our favorite trails... you would zoom ahead of mommy (who was running) and make me sprint after you, laughing and giggling and being so very Greyson the entire way...

Then after our early morning ride we decided that even though we're both as crispy as can be from all of our beach days, that the water park was the place to be! (it is awfully hot out already) So, off to the water park we went, where we ate delicious pizza (seriously, the water park has some good pizza!) and we slipped and slid our way down twisty slides, you even tackled the tunnel slides for the first time!! We snuggled up in a double tube and hung out for probably close to an hour in the wave pool, and you fell asleep being rocked by the waves, it was so stinkin' cute I could hardly stand it! You were so very bold and brave in ways I've not seen before, I was/am so very proud. Yes, my dear boy, this spring break, this is what we needed, this mommy and Greyson time, this re-charge our batteries time, this laugh until it hurts, relax, be silly, be late, be lazy, be sun filled, be oh so in love time. I love you so much, and I'm so so so happy that I'm your momma, and that you are my little sidekick... YOU make spring break fun!!

spring break - day 4

Once again we went to the beach, and we stayed too too long, and came home all red and sunburned... but the day was beautiful and every time I said, "Let's go" you said, "Just a little longer momma??" so we stayed and tonight as I kissed your super pink cheeks that smelled of aloe and sun kissed skin, you asked, "can we go to the beach again tomorrow??" You are my boy, my beach loving, never enough sand and ocean and sunshine boy...

on the 3rd day of spring break...

We beached it... then we napped, then I instagramed...

We are love love loving our Florida weather right now... Perfect temps, and though the water is still a chilly, we can sit in the wet sand and and build until we start to sink!! We have to run out into the water to rinse and we shriek at the chilly-ness, then we bundle under towels and let the sun warm us back up... Today the ocean was eerily calm, the flattest and smoothest momma has ever seen it (I wanted to go for a swim so bad!!) and quiet with out the crashing waves... Momma could have napped for hours, you could have built for hours!

Can't wait to see what adventures tomorrow brings!!
